December 1, 2021Check out the latest Haas machines to join AMS: Haas Bar Feeder V2, Haas ST-30Y
We have a couple of new machines at our metal manufacturing shop! We are excited to announce we have received the Haas Bar Feeder V2 and Haas ST-30Y. These will help us increase productivity allows us to make many more additional types of machined parts much faster. Both are top-of-the-line tools to add to our repertoire.
About the Haas ST-30Y
The DS-30Y Y-axis turning center combines dual-spindle turning with Y axis, C axis, and live tooling to create a powerful “done-in-one” machining solution. Off-center milling, drilling, and tapping operations are possible for increased machining capabilities. It comes standard with a 12-station BMT65 turret and synchronized C axis for versatile 4-axis capability.
The opposed spindles support fully synchronized turning and allow on-the-fly part pass-off to reduce cycle times. The DS-30Y has a medium footprint, yet provides a generous work envelope. The compact footprint and redesigned sheet metal of the new design yield a shorter distance between the door and center of the chuck for better ergonomics. The reduced reach to the chuck makes it easier for machine operators to manually load and unload parts. It also allows for faster automated (robot) part loading and unloading.
The Haas Visual Programming System uses graphical templates and a form-like interface to help you quickly create G-code programs for not only basic part features, but also more complex operations, like Y-axis milling/drilling, probing, and more. We are able to program it to your exact specifications.
Haas has increased the angle of the wedge from 45 degrees to 55 degrees, which improves the overall chip flow inside the work envelope.
Overview:
New castings – Increased rigidity and dampening properties
Improved ergonomics for everyday operation
Improved chip evacuation
Increased Z-axis travel
Increased wedge stance for heavy-duty performance
WiFi standard
HaasDrop wireless file transfer standard
Safe Run standard
HaasConnect remote monitoring standard
We love it because:
Dual-spindle design for done-in-one operations
Y-axis milling, drilling, and tapping
Ideal for high-volume, high-production environments
Made in the USA
About the Haas Bar Feeder V2
The Haas Bar Feeder is a simple and affordable way to automate part production on Haas turning centers to boost productivity. It is designed and built exclusively for use on Haas turning centers and connects directly to the Haas control. An innovative rollaway design provides easy access to the rear of the lathe spindle for quick liner adapter and spindle liner changes.
Fast setup and quick changeovers are what set the Haas Bar Feeder apart from the competition. The rollaway design lets us swap out the patented Haas extruded spindle liners in minutes, and the quick-change pushrods snap in place without tools. Bar height adjustments are fast and easy using a single handwheel, and our belt-driven bar-shuttle system provides lightning-fast retract speeds to reduce cycle times.
Overview:
Rollaway design provides easy access for quick liner changes
High push-rod speeds for shorter part-to-part cycle times
Ability to use the pushrod as a stop
Improved mechanical design for increased reliability and performance
Easy bar diameter changeover (height adjustment), with better ergonomics
Quick-change pushrod design, with no tools needed
Storage for both pushrod diameters, 3/8″ (9.5 mm) and 3/4″ (20 mm)
Easily accessible storage for all extruded liners
We love it because:
All-inclusive design, with plug-and-play capabilities to a Haas lathe
Interfaces directly with the Haas control
Includes patented Haas spindle liners
Made in the USA
